Miiieeeoooow – Battlekat on its way to UK

You might have heard by now that the band formerly known as Just a number 270511 , is out of the bag as Battlekat. These kats played their first show at Spot festival and blew both hearts and ears by their performance and bass. In other words. Kind of perfect. Oh, you can read about the show one one of our fave British music sites, The Line of Best fit

Good Tape Records is privileged to work with these talented Copenhageners aaaand now we will send them overseas to play some music here and there and see how the Oasis lovers will greet some Scandinavian Electro.

So first stop is, DUNDIDUN..nothing less than  SWN FESTIVAL. !

The Line of Best Fit scribblescrabbles this about it:

“Returning for its fifth consecutive year in 2011 is the ever magnificent Swn Festival, boasting an initial lineup bigger and better than ever before. Taking place over four days between 20 – 24 October, a whole host of venues and clubs will open their doors across the fine city of Cardiff to showcase some of the best new acts around.

What’s more, we’re thrilled to announce that The Line Of Best Fit have been invited to host a stage at the festival for the first time. Excited? You bet your sweet ass we’re excited. The final lineup can’t be announced quite yet (mainly ‘cos we’re still working on it), but as a teaser here’s a trio of bands that, if you’re a regular reader of TLOBF, you’ll be no stranger to: Echo LakeThe History Of Apple Pie and Battlekat”

English music lover at The Line of Best Fit recommends Hymns from Nineveh

Review by The Line Of Best Fit.

“Unless you’re a musical loving Dane, there’s every chance that you’ve never heard of Hymns from Nineveh. Predominantly the work of one man alone, the Denmark based Jonas Petersen, his project has received fairly significant attention in his homeland. An earlier EP, Uncomplicated Christmassongs, received a good deal of national radio airplay; his self-titled debut album briefly topped the Danish iTunes chart and also collected a long line of positive reviews along the way; and Petersen even had a song included on the soundtrack of a Danish Christmas film. Yet it seems that barely a word about the artist or his music has made it onto UK shores, and that’s a real shame as Hymns from Nineveh has a lot to offer.

From the first few seconds of album opener ‘So Mournful The Elegy, So Comforting The Hymn’, through the lightly tapped keys of the piano and the stunningly frail vocals, you immediately get the sense of the type of album this is going to be: delicate, tender, and downright beautiful. It’s folk music, to put it simply, but so much more than your average collection of folk songs.
